Passionflower can be added to boiling water to create a herbal tea. Some studies suggest it may help relieve anxiety and insomnia, and it can also have a tranquilizing effect. It is generally considered safe but may cause some side effects such as sleepiness, dizziness, & confusion. Because of this, it should not be taken with sedative medications, and it is not safe for pregnant women or breast-feeding women. It may induce contractions if you’re pregnant.
